• Days of Desert Solitude

    Request Form
  • We are so grateful to offer days of Desert Solitude to priests serving the Diocese of Phoenix, providing a place for you to "come away by yourself to a deserted place and rest a while."

We are currently undergoing some much-needed renovations and construction on property, and are therefore accepting reservations on a case-by-case basis as the construction timeline unfolds. Currently we are only opening dates a few weeks into the future. While we are still open and will ensure you have a quiet stay while here, we also look forward to a grand re-opening in the future with fully renovated hermitages.

The House of Prayer for Priests is now serving priests only within the Diocese of Phoenix. It has been a joy to serve the wider Church through welcoming priests from around the country, and we are grateful to the many priests who have spent time in prayer here and have also generously contributed to our ministry.

  • Luke: Free-standing hermitage with unobstructed views of the mountains and canyon to the north. Offers the most privacy during the renovations.

John: Free-standing hermitage with excellent view of the Bradshaw mountains to the west and New River mountains to the east.

Both hermitages have a twin XL bed, mini-fridge, hot plate, microwave, tea kettle, coffee maker, full bathroom, and wrap-around porch.

  • We invite you into a prayerful environment of silence and solitude, and we encourage you to disconnect from the world, from work, and from the desire to be productive. Often this means having electronics like cell phones and laptops in airplane mode or turned off unless being used for spiritual direction or journaling.
